Welcome to Theology Coffeehouse!
I know it isn't much to look at just yet, but hopefully much more is on the way!
The reason this site is slowly working its way into existence is because one of my favorite
things to do is heading to a coffeehouse with a friend or two to share ideas. It's usually a
time of laughter, good conversation, and good coffee (or good hot chocolate when I'm in the mood).
During these times we'll talk about life, God, ministry, Scripture, culture, the things that entertain us,
and we'll get out in words whatever other ideas we've been wrestling with in our heads. The thing is, so many of my
friends live scattered all over the country; Washington, DC, New York, Maryland, California, Washington, Oregon, Montana... I just can't make
an afternoon trip to a coffeehouse from New York to Montana. Thus spawned this web site.
My hope is that Theology Coffeehouse can become a place where we can all have 'coffeehouse conversations' wherever we are.
As for Theology, rather than a hyperspecialized, ultraspecific creation of doctrine and dogma,
let's get back to the etymology and make this a place of "words about God."
As for Coffeehouse, let's make this our community meeting place. A community of people who
can share ideas humbly, disagree gracefully, and benefit and encourage mutually.
