What?!? Scripture is God's Living Word, written centuries ago in an entirely different historical/social/cultural context. That in mind, we all know it can be confusing at times and hard to understand; other times it seems easier to understand but hard to wrap our minds around. Ebbs and Flows As we interact with Scripture, we all go through ebbs and flows: there are times full of life and vigor that never seem to last long enough, there are dry and empty times that seem like they're never going to end. Then there are those times when, for whatever reason, we live in that place where we can't bring ourselves to interact with Scripture at all (and sometimes that is our permanent address). Perhaps sharing where we are on either end of this spectrum can be a means of grace to us, and to those we're sharing with. |
